• Tammy Arnold (Parent) Summer Enrichment

Tammy Arnold, pictured with her daughters, Lillian (left) and Anonna Bradford, is a certified nursing assistant. Her daughters participate in not only the Summer Enrichment Program but also the Tutoring and Girl’s Gymnastics Training Programs. “As a single parent, I work all the time. Having my girls step into a positive and constructive environment every day is a blessing from God. They come home every day and tell me something new and fun that they have done. I have never seen them excited about fractions and long-term division, and other enrichment such as yoga and pottery. The staff has made learning interesting, engaging, and fun for the kids. The project learning that they are doing is awesome. Recently, the girls made balloon-powered cars during a STEM activity. This really had my girls really excited.”

When I count my blessings, I count the Rising STARS for Christ girls mentoring program. Growing up was not easy and life didn’t deal the best hand to me, exactly. After losing both of my parents by age 14, I thought my life was over. With little to no help, I’m happy to have been given a second chance by this mentoring program. Read More

  • Academic Tutoring Program

The afterschool tutoring helped me understand the information that I did not understand while in my Geometry class. This program not only helped me understand Geometry, it helped me be comfortable with asking questions in class when I don't understand. The tutors are the best, they should be my classroom teachers. They helped me be more confident and overcome obstacles that I was having in my classes.

  • Alece Jones, Single Moms Program

My life is better now with the help of Families United Training Center. When I came to this program in 2019, I didn’t have any goals set and was not motivated in different areas of my life. The staff at Families United Training Center helped me see there was more to life than the things I had been focusing on. And getting an education was on that list. Today, I am grateful to be a graduate of Copiah-Lincoln Community College (May 2022) and the Program Assistant to Families United Training Center.

When you write the vision and make it plain, God will meet you right where you are and deliver, Every Time !!

The best is yet to come.

  • Trinity Milton, Afterschool Tutoring

The tutoring program was awesome. They really care about us and our grades. They not only help with tutoring, but they go over and beyond to understand the youth of today! I admire their drive and someday be as motivated as they are. What an awesome tutoring staff!
