Girls Mentoring Program

Our girls' mentoring program addresses critical tween & teen issues, such as the value of education and achievement, bullying, promiscuity, etiquette and hygiene, drugs and alcohol, friendships, parents, and personal safety. It provides a support system for the participants involved. The program will help the mentee develop socially, as social skills will benefit the girls in all areas of their lives. The group mentoring sessions include craft activities, interactive workshops, speakers, tutoring, field trips, and community service projects.

Rising STARS for Christ Mentoring Program started in 2014 with a vision to empower and equip girls ages 10-17 for success in life for God’s glory (Jeremiah 29:11).

This program is designed to improve the lives of young ladies and enable them to become productive, responsible adults in society. We provide nurturing long-term relationships between adult role models and young ladies by creating one-to- one mentoring relationships between at-risk young ladies and qualified adult volunteers. The guidance and support we provide equips the girls for a brighter future.

Congratulations to one of our Rising STARS, Raykesha Carter, for completing her Bachelor’s Degree at Jackson State University (MS).

Raykesha was begin this program in 2014 and has continued to give back during her college journey. Our desire is to continue to support the girls after high school.

Mentoring is often one component of a program that involves other elements, such as tutoring. Mentoring can help youth as they go through challenging life transitions. The supportive, healthy relationships developed between mentors and mentees contribute to healthier relationships and lifestyle choices, better attitude about school, enhanced self-esteem and self-confidence, and so much more.

Our desire is to improve the academic achievement, self-esteem, and social competence of youth by providing a relationship with a caring adult mentor/tutor who works to help youth achieve their fullest potential.

Our programs are designed to create safe spaces for both girls and mentors; boys and mentors to develop positive and healthy relationships built on honesty, consistency, and accountability.
